The Human Rights Arts and Film Festival in Sydney

hraff sydneyThe Human Rights Arts and Film Festival is in its 2nd year and has now grown into a nationwide festival. The vision of the founders of the event was to make human rights accessible.

The Sydney program will run from Thursday, 4 December – Sunday, 7 December 2008 and will include films, music, speakers and action hubs. Opening night will be hosted by Corrine Grant – comedian, writer, performer but also member of the Actors for Refugees – and will also include performances by The Isabel Fire and The Sydney Street Choir. The Honourable Justice Michael KirbyJustice of the High Court of Australia, human rights campaigner as well as being awarded a Human Rights Medal by the Australian Human Rights Commission - will present on Saturday, 6 December.

You will also have the opportunity to speak to Australian human rights organisations such as Oxfam, Amnesty International, AID/WATCH, Caritas and The Edmund Rice Centre. There will be Action Hubs in the foyer of the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington, where you can engage and interact.
