Poverty & Dignity Photography Exhibition

Poverty & Dignity Exhibition Juan MonMake sure you get along to see the photography exhibition entitled “Poverty & Dignity” by Juan Mon at Oh Really Gallery in Newtown, Sydney.

In 2007 Juan travelled throughout South America – from Argentina to Panama and through the Andes. On his journey he captured on film people and their dignity; the land and its beauty. “The portraits and landscapes in Poverty & Dignity take us on an intergalactic journey of our own planet, 8000 kilometres up the spine of the Andes Mountains and into our collective heart” says Juan.

Where 1.2 billion people live on less than $1 a day and over 3 billion on less than $2.50 per day, Juan says that “this is our legacy as a civilisation: lopsided, indifferent, psychotic, corrupt.”

The opening night is Thursday, 25 June at 6:00pm. The exhibition will run for one week until Thursday, 2 July. It will showcase a selection of photos from the many thousands that were taken on Juan’s journey throughout South America. Many of these photos have not been previously seen, until now.

All pieces are for sale and are framed, limited edition prints.
